Throughout June, July and August 2021, we have made progress on processing claims with the Administrator approving a total of 1,042 claims over these three months. That means 1,042 claimants were deemed Eligible Class Members and each person received an interim cheque for $21,000 during this time. During this period, we have denied a number of claims after assessing applications and verifying information provided, asking for additional information, and following the key steps of the claims process.
It is important to remember that some numbers in our claims stats will change as not every claim follows a straight path from assessment to approval or denial. Some claims will be assessed and reassessed more than once as new information is requested and received.
As we head into the fall, the Administrator will continue to review applications and remains committed to moving the process forward.
